The War Within: Why You Can’t Stay Neutral in Your Faith - Part 2
Welcome to the war.
It might feel easier to just comply and go along to get along. But, if you are not actively standing beside Jesus and seeking His ways then you are abdicating your God-given role as a member of the Kingdom.
You have a position to defend. Unless the Lord specifically calls you to more, your position is where you are right now. Your home. Your church. Your work. Your family. The battle rages everywhere.
Our outpost or position looks different for each of us, but we each have a place where we are called to take a stand. I am to use who God designed me to be, where I am, with whom I am to take a stand against the enemy for God's glory. Simple. If my focus is not this then it is furthering the enemy's position.
You are in the Kingdom – it isn't safe yet
There is a battle raging for the Kingdom and that means that this side of heaven isn't safe.
Danger waits to enter your mind. Worry, fear, anxiety, lust, a worldly mindset, avoidance of living for Christ for fear of what others think, etc, etc. are the skirmishes in your life.
Danger comes in the form of thinking what Christ would not think.
That means that safety comes when we are using the mind of Christ to think what He would think in our life.
A few things to think about:
...who you are in Christ rather than who the world tells you that you are. Our book is about just that.
...who God says that He is rather than what the world says or what you come up with from looking at the world. The devil told Eve that God is not good and he says the same to us every day.
...your place or lack of place in the world. You are a daughter of the King who may be asked to live a humble life this side of eternity. Or He may ask you to be front and center, in the spotlight. We are to be what God calls us to be in spite of what anyone thinks or wants. He alone is our God.
...you might feel that things are going well but is that in the world's or Christ's eyes?
Because we have an enemy that is constantly walking around looking for someone to devour, we can't relax into the world. Temptation whispers are always being spoken and the desire to destroy you is waiting at your door.
Your only decision is how you will hold the ground Christ gives you. The good news is that you will not do it alone.
First, the Lord is with you. His Spirit resides within you. This means that all of the power and resources of God Almighty are present with you right now and always.
There is nothing to fear. You can take a stand with the Lord and then live it out mightily with Him.
The dragon will whisper lies to you for he fears you will figure out that you, in Christ, are more powerful than he. Then everywhere you go he will be defeated.
The dragon will have others lie to you. He may deceive them into thinking that they are doing it to help you but they are just pawns in the game.
You must hold the ground with Christ. On our own we cannot win. With Christ, we cannot lose.
You were given His banner and armor. Proudly, humbly and with great joy we serve Him.
The dragon will continue to whisper lies to you but as you know the truth, the lies will stand out and lose their power.
The dragon will have others lie to you. He will deceive some and some will be his messengers. Either way, the closer you are to Christ the easier it will be for you to see his tactics and to resist them so that he flees from you.
Christ equips the called and you are indeed called to be His. Living out how He designed you and where He wants you to represent Him.
You were chosen by Him to be His. You were called to be with Him in the Kingdom. He has gifted you so that you are equipped for your life. You are needed. You have a part to play that is good and makes an eternal difference. Do not fear. What we go through here are only skirmishes and will soon be over.
Pick your side and do not be moved from it.
You don’t have to fight this battle without clarity.
Standing your ground sounds powerful… but if we’re honest, it can also feel overwhelming.
Because the real battle is not just “out there.”
It is in your thoughts. Your beliefs. Your identity.
And if those are not rooted in truth, the enemy does not have to fight hard—he simply has to whisper.
This is why transformation matters.
Not just spiritually… but emotionally and practically.
So you are not just trying to stand—
you actually know how to stand.
You recognize the lies.
You respond with truth.
You walk in the authority you already have in Christ.
